Main

All plates (except manti, iskender, incik, hünkar, falafel, türlü, döner fries) are served with few pieces of naan (which has dairy and gluten), grilled jalapeño, cacik, rice (V, GF) and house salad. Manti, Türlü and Hünkar come with sourdough instead of naan. If you are gluten free, please ask to substitute with our gluten free sourdough (or tell your server to hold the bread). GF indication refers to the main protein on the plate.

A note about allergies and cross contamination: We have a very small kitchen and flour is in close proximity to GF flour. We do our best not to work with them at the same time but we are not an allergen free facility. We have no soy, mustard or peanuts in our facility. We have other nuts such as pistachios, walnuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts. We have one fryer and sigara boregi (which has cheese) and falafel are both fried there. If you are vegan, please note that we do not have dedicated fryers to keep those separate. Similarly, although our fries are GF, they get fried in the same fryer as sigara boregi which has gluten. All breads are toasted on the same grill, etc. Same thing applies to manti: we only have one burner with manti water. We use a separate colander for potato manti but both meat and vegetarian manti are cooked in the same water. For serious allergies, please beware of the small kitchen issues that make it impossible to completely separate these items into different sections.

Naan bread we purchase is NOT vegan as it includes dairy. If you are gluten free, please note that anything we can make GF without sacrificing texture or flavor, we do. We use GF flour, gf orzo, gf bread crumbs in dishes such as rice, falafel, mücver, sultan’s delight (hünkar begendi) etc.

For those who are avoiding garlic, we are sorry to say you are trying the wrong cuisine :( We do have onions, peppers, garlic in most dishes. Here is a selection that does not have garlic on our menu: Köfte (meatballs), döner, iskender, adana, tavuk adana, pirzola (lamb chops), patlican salata (eggplant salad), mücver. If you are keto and avoiding starches and flours/carbs, our mücver, falafel, hunkar begendi (roasted eggplant base for sultan’s delight), köfte include gf flour, or gf breadcrumbs or corn starch for textural reasons. Our caramelized rice pudding and burned milk pudding are thickened with corn starch. Maras ice cream is only thickened with salep .

A note about our ingredients: Our spices, pomegranate molasses, lokum (Turkish Delight), coffee, special cheeses, yufka (sigara borek dough), pistachios, hazelnuts, dried fruit, salep, olives, red pepper paste, tahini come directly from regional producers in Turkey. They make a world of difference in our opinion.

A note about halal: We are not a halal facility as we sell alcohol as well as meat that is not designated as halal (beef). We do not have any pork products in our facility. We are able to source two kinds of halal meat in Alaska: certified halal lamb chops and certified halal chicken thighs and we offer those as options for our diners who have such dietary preferences.
